A. Often in my creative conquests, I have found out that discipline needs to be forgone. Based on my own experiences, I believe discipline and creativity do not go together. Firstly, creativity is a spontaneous process. It can not be constricted by hard and fast rules. It is not something that can be forced out of one like clockwork. Creativity comes to you and when it does, you can produce masterpieces. Secondly, creativity defies the fastidious discipline of prioritization. Creativity often finds itself fixated on one passion project even when encumbered by other more important assignment. Therefore, you can not schedule creativity through discipline. Thirdly, most of the creative minds who have etched their names on the pages of history, decided at an early age to detach themselves from institutionalized education due to the enforced "discipline". If anything, this is a glowing testament to how creativity is best flourished when it is not bound by discipline; rather, it is let to flow freely and amplify its own beauty. On the contrary, discipline does help one in a few cases. Discipline ensures that the body and mind is reinvigorated to think freely. An exasperated brain often fails to conjure creativity. Therefore, discipline is required to some extent in order to ensure a sound mind.. In a nutshell, discipline only goes with creativity when it does not tie down a free-thinking process. Discipline serves as a catalyst to a creative mind in cases, but more often than not, creativity and discipline do not go together.
