Bad Effects of Cutting Trees
Cutting down trees brings far-reaching consequences to the environment and people's health. We have always known trees as our best friend. They are an integral part of nature providing us with many essential things for living. Trees help us keep our air clean. They take the carbon dioxide and through photosynthesis, convert them to oxygen. When we cut trees, we hamper the process of air filtration, declining the quality of the air. In addition, the removal of trees causes the birds and other animals, relying on them for shelter, to leave the place. Moreover, cutting trees causes serious damage to the soil, as trees protect soil from direct contact with water and wind. Furthermore, trees offer protection from the sun and help keep the air cool. Without trees, we will be left vulnerable to heat exhaustion and heat stroke under the scorching sun. When trees are cut down on a large scale, it leads to deforestation. Most importantly, deforestation is mostly responsible for climate change, which results in rising of temperature, erratic rainfall, floods, cyclones, drought, melting of polar ice-caps etc. In order to save us from these hardships, we have to stop cutting down trees. For this, common people should be made. aware of the consequences of cutting trees. Alternative use of trees should be found out. Government should introduce strict laws in order to protect biodiversity and ensure a better environment.
