From the beginning the southern Neolithic culture is associated with people possessing herds of cattle, sheep and goats and developing in course of time, a stone blade industry. It passes through three distinct phases, of which the second and third see a steady increase in the small number of copper of bronze tools. Their pottery was predominantly handmade grey or buff brown. The settlements were usually made on top of granite hills or on leveled terraces on the hill sides.
