(b) Tereshkova underwent training in skydiving and made her first jump on the 21st of May 1959. Soon she became expert in skydiving which led to her selection as a cosmonaut
(c) Being interested in parachuting from a young age, Tereshkova took training in skydiving at a regional Aeroclub. Again, after being selected as a cosmonaut, she underwent a series of training in weightless flights, isolation tests, centrifuge tests, rocket theory, spacecraft engineering, 120 parachute jumps and pilot training in MiG 15 UTI jet fighters.
d) Yuri Gagarin was the first human being to fly to outer space in 1961.
(e) Tereshkova was dressed in space-suits and locked inside Vostok-6. There she stayed for a two-hour count down before the successful launch of Vostok-6.
